A private weekly research summary for one obstetrics and gynaecology practitioner.
This is a small personal tool. Once a week it gathers recently published, openly available research in obstetrics and gynaecology, writes a one-page plain-English summary of four papers, builds a short self-assessment quiz, and emails the result as a single PDF.
It exists so that one clinician can keep up with the evidence in their own field. It is not a product, not a service, and not available to sign up for.
One person. The digest is sent to a single fixed recipient — the clinician who runs it. There are no other users, no subscriber list, and no way to join one.
The tool sends its weekly email from a dedicated Gmail account using the Gmail API, with a single permission: send email on your behalf.
Sending over the Gmail API rather than a mail server is a practical necessity: the machine running this tool sits behind a network that blocks outbound mail ports.
Summaries are drawn only from the full text of freely readable articles published from 2024 onward, with preference given to systematic reviews, meta-analyses and randomised controlled trials. Every summary carries its DOI so the original paper can be read in full. The digest is a prompt to read the paper, never a substitute for it.
